The origins of SDHA are rooted in the accumulation of over 14 consecutive years of hunting and guiding in Sonora. Throughout the past decade and one half, the principal owners of SDHA have encountered both the good and the bad relative to the Mexican Big Game Hunting experience. The goal of SDHA is to make available to a select and limited number of serious trophy hunters a reliable, consistent and honest venue for pursuing their passion.

Sonora Dark Horn Adventures (SDHA) is “trophy quality” guiding/outfitting service specializing in desert mule deer, Coues deer, and desert bighorn hunting in Sonora, Mexico. The origins of SDHA are rooted in the accumulation of over 15 consecutive years of hunting and guiding in Sonora. Throughout the past decade and one half, the principal owners of SDHA have encountered both the good and the bad relative to the Mexican Big Game Hunting experience. The goal of SDHA is to make available to a select and limited number of serious trophy hunters a reliable, consistent and honest venue for pursuing their passion. This can only be achieved through the thoughtful “long term” management practices including the absolute control of the properties being hunted. To achieve this, SDHA controls over 100,000 acres of prime private ranch land on which to conduct their hunts, exclusively. There are a limited and strictly controlled number of hunts conducted on SDHA properties to ensure a perpetual longevity in quality. Because SDHA owns many of these properties, predator control and wildlife enhancements are made possible. A year round presence on the properties eliminates unauthorized over-bookings and other common abuses endemic in Mexico. With SDHA, the hunter will never have to worry about misrepresentations, oversubscribed hunting, hidden costs, substandard accommodations or improper paperwork. All of the necessary contracts and paperwork associated with hunting in Mexico will be professionally handled by SDHA. This includes all licensing, gun transportation permits, tags, as well as U.S. importation documentation and declarations.
Evolving out of the original small nucleus of experienced trophy hunters familiar with Mexico, SDHA now has several successful years under it’s belt. The original group of hunters continue to rebook with SDHA while a modest expansion of properties and clientele is underway. SDHA is a “hunter oriented” outfitter, as opposed to a “commission oriented” booking agent. After all, we will be in the field to deliver on the promises that we make. Upon request, we will provide a complete list of references of the clients we continue to represent.
